Damn, Sarah J. Maas. This book was so beautiful. Every single thing was beautiful. Queen of Shadows is one of my favorite books of 2015. Usually, when a series has so many books, the story tends to become a little bit boring but that has not happened with this series.

Two important things:

1. Arobynn is dead

2. The King of Adarlan is dead

“She was fire, and light, and ash, and embers. She was Aelin Fireheart, and she bowed for no one and nothing, save the crown that was hers by blood and survival and triumph.”

We all now Aelin Ashryver Galathynius, the fire-breathing bitch-queen. At the end of Heir of Fire, Aelin left Wendlyn because there were problems with the King and Dorian. So yeah, there were huge problems. She, along with Rowan, Chaol, Lysandra, Nesryn and Aedion, defeated everything. It was hard because they were almost dead, but they did it, they did the imposible.

I hated when Chaol was making Aelin responsible for all the shit that happened in Heir of Fire. I was so freaking mad because he didn’t have the right to say that. First of all, he was the one who sent her to Wendlyn… he was the one who sent her away. So how can she be responsible for everything? Huh? If he was the one who didn’t want her near the King. Later he changed his mind about all he said, but damn… don’t do that again, Chaol. My baby Dorian was suffering so much and those little chapters from his POV were so freaking sad. But after all, he defeated the wicked thing inside him and I was proud. Dorian is now the King of Adarlan and I’m pretty sure his reign will be fantastic.

Rowan came back. He came looking for Aelin. He missed her. Rowan and Aelin are my OTP. I looooove them. They are so cute together and they protect each other every single day. They have a “relationship” that is growing slowly, but in a beautiful way. Also, another character that I love was Lysandra. Aelin needed a girl friend. She didn’t have a girl friend since Nehemia’s death and it was sad. Even though Aelin didn’t like Lysandra before, they became friends. Lysandra was such an amazing and strong character in this book and I love her. On the other hand, we have Manon Blackbeak and Elide. Manon is a character that I don’t like as much as the others, but I must say she impressed me in this book. She has changed a lot and I think that is a good thing. Also the new character Elide, impressed me because I thought she was fragile and weak, but no… I was wrong because she was strong… really strong.

Probably this is a shitty review but I don’t care. As I said before, I loved this book. It was beautifully written. I have this book since it came out but I didn’t have the chance to read it. Heir of Fire was a good book, but this one was so much better. I just… damn, it’s so hard to express how much I liked this book. Thank you, Sarah J. Maas, for writing such an amazing story.

  1. I love this book! I just had all the feels on that scene when Rowan and Aelin saw each other after being apart ❤ Great review!
