“On a continent ruled by three empires, some are born with a “witchery,” a magical skill that sets them apart from others.”

Safiya is a truthwitch. She has a powerful magic that many would kill to have it on their side. Iseult is a threadwitch. Her magic can see the invisible ties that bind and entangle the lives around her.  As friends, they want to be free to live their own lives, but along the way they have to fight emperors, princes and weird witches. Also, they’re going to have help from a beautiful prince, Merik.

First of all, I have to say I loved Safi and Iseult friendship. They care about each other so much and it was beautiful. Having a friend by your side all the time no matter what is a must. They put their life in danger for each other and oh my god, hands down to Iseult because she didn’t care if she died, she always wanted to help Safi. SUCH A BEAUTIFUL FRIENDSHIP, I WANT ONE LIKE THAT. DAMN.

Moving on… I loved the world building…I am absolutely blown away by it. I loved having a huge continent ruled by three huge empires. Having an upcoming war was fantastic, because that’s what we see in our real world. I liked having a corrupt “government”, having poor “countries” without food to eat and money to survive. That’s what we see and live every day. The character development was really good, and also, the little romance was beautiful. I loved how Safi and Merik developed their romance slowly. Since the beginning you could tell they were feeling something but didn’t say nothing until the end. Also, I think there’s going to be some romance between Aeduan and Iseult on the next book… if you think the same, let me know.

“Those who win wars are those who write history.”

In addition, I loved having different kind of witches. The only bad thing was that we didn’t have a guide. It would’ve been really useful having a guide about all the witches because at times I got confused and I know some people agree with me. I don’t know if you think the same, but I loved the Bloodwitch. I think Aeduan (the Bloodwitch) was an amazing character and one of my favorites. Even though he was a bad guy, he was different… and I don’t know what’s wrong with me but I pictured him as a sexy villain. Zeus, help me.

Overall, this book has an amazing plot line, and I loved they were running all the time. Because we all run from things every day but we do not accept it.  I need answers for some questions I have… about Iseult’s mother, Merik’s family, etc.. etc… but I think I’ll have them in the next book. The secondary characters were amazing!!!  I’m looking forward for the next book, Windwitch… but the sad thing is that I have to wait a freaking year for it. I cannot wait to know more about this world. I love Susan’s writing, I think it resembles Sarah’s writing, which is good because I love her too. I recommend this book to everyone, honestly. Go and buy it right know.
