Sarah J. Maas never disappoint me with her books. I don’t even know how she writes these wonderful books.

I was mad when I started this book because I didn’t have a lot of time to read so, it took me a few weeks to finish it.

“Aelin Galathynius had raised an army not just to challenge Morath, but to rattle the stars.”

I enjoyed how this book started. It’s action packed since the very beginning. It’s not the kind of book that has “normal” chapters and at the half of it the action starts. The character development in this book is amazing. You can see how much the characters have grown. A character development that I really liked was Dorian’s. You all know how much a I love Dorian, but this character has a character development so amazing . I’m so proud of my baby. I don’t approve his new love interest, but what can I do? I saw that coming since Queen of Shadows. Come on, Manon? Seriously? Why? Why? Why? To be completely honest, I hated Manon since Heir of Fire, but finally I like her. I LIKE HER. I thought I was going to hate her forever because I wasn’t a fan of her in Queen of Shadows either. Now it’s obvious that my baby is going to be with her. I’m crying.

We all know Elide and Lorcan, obviously. I don’t know why people want them to be together, honestly. I do like them, but I don’t think they should be together just because they were “helping” each other while Elide was looking for Aelin. I’m don’t think people should be together just because they spend some time together, you know? I’m not a fan of that. The ones that I really want together are Aedion and Lysandra. If they don’t end up together, I’m gonna lose my faith in love, seriously.

“He was hers and she was his and they had found each other across centuries of bloodshed and loss, across oceans and kingdoms and war.”

You all know my thoughts about Aelin. I think she doesn’t need a man to be powerful, but she has her love by her side all the time in this book. I have to say that I was impressed by how much Rowan loves her. It’s something that you can even feel, seriously. I felt his love for her, and he loves her very much.

I enjoyed how in this book you have the truth about everything. YES, EVERYTHING. Reading about Nehemia broke my heart. I loved her so much… she deserved better, but she knew what was going to happened and still she decided to do what she was asked to do. Getting to know the real truth about everything was a nice touch to this book because well, we’re almost done with this series (sadly), and we didn’t know why or how a lot of things happened before. I wasn’t expecting that Aelin has to do that thing (I really don’t want to mention it because it’s a huge spoiler) in order to succeed. It’s really sad, and I don’t know why I think it is going to happen. With Sarah J. Maas we can expect everything.

When Maeve hurts Aelin I was screaming. I just couldn’t read that; it still hurts. Seriously, that was so sad. She was suffering even though she was trying to be strong. I can’t even think about that scene. I just can’t. How Rowan was suffering when he discovered everything was heart breaking. Aelin knew what was going to happened, and she did everything she had to do before Maeve arrived. It’s amazing how this book makes you feel everything.

Sarah J. Maas is the queen of plot twists. I wasn’t expecting anything that happened in this book. Now we have to wait a long time for the next book, but the waiting would be worth it. I don’t want this series to end. Sarah can write 10 books about these characters and I’ll read them all. Hands down to the real queen, Sarah J. Maas.

Absolutely loved this book. LOOOOOVED IT!

“Aelin Galathynius, Queen of Terrasen, knew the time would soon come to prove just how much she’d bleed for Erilea.”

  1. OMG I finished this book yesterday… this book left me emotionally unstable!!! I don’t think I will be able to read anything for the rest of the week!!!!!!
I have to say that I LOVE Manon and her character development through the books…also I don’t know why but I kind of like her with Dorian!! 😅

  2. I actually loved Elide’s chapters the most! And I loved that her and Lorcan had a slow burn romance, I loved seeing how they changed towards each other chapter by chapter. However I was annoyed at how readily Elide was to throw herself at Lorcan to stop him from being harmed. I mean they had only just kissed for the first time not too long before that and she was already willing to die for or with him.

I loved Mannon’s chapters as well! But I was annoyed that she was ‘paired’ off with Dorian. It felt forced to me.

I also really didn’t like Aelin in this book. She was so untouchable and she had planned for everything. Everything was way to planned and way too organised for me. I felt like she was never surprised at anything and she never let anyone in on her plans. I mean until the end. But by that point I didn’t much care, I just saw Maeve taking her as another plot twist to keep the story interesting and progressing.

I feel like I’m the only one who thinks this! I loved this series but I was underwhelmed by this book :/ Mainly because I couldn’t stand how smug Aelin was the whole time. I couldn’t connect with her at all.
