Book: Rebel Spring
Author: Morgan Rhodes
Genre: Young Adult Fantasy
I love how powerful and full of magic is this series.
After reading Throne of Glass I couldn’t find a series that I would like as much as I like ToG. They’re really different, but both are so powerful and that makes my heart happy.
Just like the first book, Rebel Spring has different point of views from important and new characters. On my Falling Kingdom’s Review I said I liked Cleo and Jonas so much, and guess what? I still do. I also said I didn’t like Magnus but I feel like I started to like him more in this book. Somehow I think he has changed and that’s an amazing thing because I don’t why but I imagine him as a sexy prince. I love the rebels (especially Jonas). I love how motivated and dedicated they are. Ugh, I just enjoyed so much reading their chapters.
The plot keeps being amazing and intriguing. I dare to say that even more intriguing than before. All these things with the Watchers’ lies, the king’s reign, Princess Lucia’s magic… are soooo intriguing. I love the element of magic in this book because is so strong, powerful and different. This book, like the first one, makes you try to connect every piece of information to figure out what’s going to happen, but it isn’t predictable (which is a thing I love in books).
I’m glad we had the chance to learn more about the Watchers because in the first book we didn’t have a lot of details about them, and even though we don’t know everything about them, I’m glad we know a little bit more than before. And I have to say, not every Watcher is nice and good. This series is so full of blood… it’s crazy. Just like the first book we have a lot of deaths throughout the entire book, even more deaths than before. Innocent people die non-stop in this series, and I don’t know why I enjoy how dark this book could be.
I liked how good the character development was, and the world building as well. I feel like this series is going to become a favorite of mine just because of how good and intriguing it is. I know this series is almost over because almost every book is out for sale, but I still have to catch up (slowly, because I want to enjoy it). However, I did found some parts of the book really slow and I was bored at times so that explain why I gave 4 out 5 stars to this book. I still hate the King so, so, so much. I do feel a little bit sorry about him because someone’s tricking him but still… I hate him.
I’m pretty excited to know more about Cleo and Lucia’s fate. I know their “relationship” is going to develop in the third book, and I cannot wait to read what’s going to happen between them and the magic. The Watchers have some plans of their own going on, and I need to know if everything’s going to happen how they want to.
P.S. I’m still waiting for the end of the King’s reign.
If you’ve read this book, please share your thoughts in the comments, I would love to talk about it. I hope you all enjoyed this review.
Until next time, xoxo.
