I listened to the audiobook this time, and I have to say that I loved the narrator. This is the first time that I listen to an entire audiobook and I’m glad I did. I was trying to re-read this series for a long time, but I didn’t felt like picking up the book so I decided to give audible a try and it was totally worth it.

Clary Fray is one of my favorite female characters ever. I’m pretty sure that those who follow me on bookstagram knew that already because my username has always been “ninofray”. I think that every character in this book is amazing because they all have different personalities, and even though some of them are “bad” characters, I still like them. Valentine, for example, is the villain but I love him so much because his personality make the story so interesting, and you’re always trying to figure out what’s the next step of his evil plan. On the other hand, we have sweet and good characters like Simon. I feel so sorry for him, and I’m a firm believer that he deserves so much better than Clary. Don’t get me wrong, I love her so much but she isn’t the one for Simon. I wouldn’t ruin such a strong friendship just to give their “love” story a shot, I wouldn’t. I loved feeling that there is chemistry between Izzy and Simon. Now that I mentioned Izzy, if you need cooking advice don’t go to her but if you need fashion advice she’s the one. She slays every outfit. However, I like to dress like Simon; a pair of jeans, converse, and a tshirt. He and Jace didn’t have a good start, and their “conversations” were really awkward. Yeah, Jace can be annoying sometimes, but I LOVE HIM SO MUCH. He is so handsome and sexy, I just want him by my side every single day. I just adore how he is with Clary. Ugh, I love him. BUT, my favorite “couple”, and I say couple because they totally love each other already were Alec and Magnus. They are absolutely beautiful… they are the real OTP.

I love how complex (in a good way) is this story. You have a little bit of everything. You have warlocks, witches, vampires, demons, werewolves, shadowhunters, angels, and so much more. The plot is also so complex and so different. Every time you’re reading you find different things that you know that may develop in the rest of the series. The plot isn’t just one, it has like different sub-plots and that makes this story so beautiful and amazing. The world building is so phenomenal, and you can imagine it perfectly because the wonderful Cassandra Clare described it so well.

When I first read this book I wanted a stele, I wanted tattoos of every rune, I wanted to train like a Shadowhunter. This book made me so happy because when I read this series and the Percy Jackson series I was in a bad place, and I was really sad. This book made me believe, and helped me find an outlet to let out my bad thoughts and feelings. I know a lot of people after reading this book felt so much better. Somehow I feel like I owe something to Cassandra Clare for helping me get better.

If it wasn’t clear enough, I totally recommend this book, the entire series, and every book she has written because trust me, they are all good. The Shadowhunter World is so huge and amazing that you won’t regret reading about the adventures within this world.

Even though I read this book four years ago, what I just said is what I felt back then and what I still feel.

I really hope you enjoy this review, and I hope that if you haven’t read this series you decide to do it after reading this.

Thank you so much for reading. Until next time, xoxo.
