“Only you can decide what breaks you, Cursebreaker. Only you.”
You all know that I love Sarah J. Maas. I mean, who doesn’t?
I had high expectations for ACOWAR, and I’m glad I wasn’t disappointed. To be honest, this book surpassed my expectations. Every book by Sarah is a masterpiece, but there has been three books (including this one) that I think they are beautifully written; especially ACOWAR. This book is so beautiful and rich with important and interesting information. You’re going to hear yourself saying “I did not see that coming” tons of times while reading this book.
What I liked the most about this book was the character development. You can feel how different the characters are from the first book. I think that’s such an important detail when you’re reading sequels because sometimes they just focus on the plot and the action but we don’t see any character development. I like to see my favorite characters grow throughout the story.
“Remember that you are a wolf. And you cannot be caged.”
This book was action-packed. Compared to ACOMAF which was a book that I feel was just centered and focused on romance, this one is so much different. It has romantic scenes but not that much. They focused on the action, and how to solve big problems. The fights, the war, the confrontations, everything is SO GOOD. Honestly, you’ll enjoy this so much that you won’t want to finish it. There’s not even a boring and slow chapter (for me). It’s the kind of book that keeps you in the edge of your seat.
Also, I enjoyed that our secondary characters had more participation in this book. We know Nesta and Elain since the first book, but in this book we got to know them a lot better. I have to say that I love Nesta so much. Some people say that she was arrogant, annoying, a
bitch… but I don’t think people really understood her situation. She didn’t asked to be in the situation she is now, she didn’t asked for all that shit stuff to happen. If I was in her situation, I would feel the same.
“It is the family you make, not the one you are born into, that matters.”
You all know I loved Tamlin, then I hated him, then I hated him even more, but now even though I don’t love him I did learned to understand him. I also learned to love Lucien. Now I love him with all my heart, and I just wish he was here by my side. I’m not even going to talk about Mor, Amren, Az, Cassian, Rhys and Feyre because they are my favorite squad ever. They’re all so different but they complement each other in different ways. Rhys and Feyre are the ultimate OTP and YOU GUYS KNOW IT!
“I see all of you, Rhys. And there is not one part that i do not love with everything I am.”
Overall, such a phenomenal and brilliant installment. I wish we had more stories and adventures about them because I couldn’t get tired of reading about all these amazing characters. This book is so much fun, and even though I cried like a baby, I enjoyed this so much. I can see myself re-reading this brilliant book really soon. If you want to feel a roller coaster of emotions, you definitely need to read the A Court of Thorns and Roses series ASAP.
I hope you enjoyed this review. Let me know in the comments your thoughts about ACOWAR because I would love to chat about it.
Thank you so much for reading. Until next time, xoxo!
